Meet the FBS! (Part 6)

The most recent expansion of the FBS recruited two more heroes, rounding out the 32-hero lineup we know.

The new heroes were:

Spectrum (Jordyn Allen) - Earth's assigned member of the Spectrum Guild per the Orion Alliance

Steel Magnolia (John Dixon) - A reformed neo-Confederate who's actually in his second superhero incarnation

Meet the FBS! (Part 5)

Following The Ten Plagues Incident, an attack on Gothamopolis, Indiana by the Crowns of Hell, the FBS decided to recruit another six heroes. They ended up going with the members of The Amazings, a team for superheroes in need of a second chance at heroism due to Patriot sorting the options alphabetically.

The new members were:

Bandage (Nefertiti) - A mummy from Memphis, Tennessee who uses her enchanted linens to tie up criminals

Fluoridated Man (Frederick Alexander) - A former conspiracy theorist who was fluoridated by an evil scientist, giving him Teflon skin, hydrofluoric acid sweat, and fluorine breath

Folder (Chitose Furukawa) - An origamimancer with a near-endless supply of paper to animate

Halloween Man (Bert Timothy) - A Halloween store owner who used fear to scare criminals out of his neighborhood

Shatter (Leona Masters) - A scientist who wields a liquid nitrogen gun to stop criminals

Stormer (Rodney Ritter) - A charming Southern gentleman with weather control powers

Meet the FBS! (Part 4)

The FBS grew over time, with four new heroes joining the team in a single year.

The new heroes were:

Demoness (Kendra Johnson) - A former soldier who turns into a demon-looking creature whenever she has a PTSD attack

Grandmaster (Tucker Scheving) - A former FBS agent who took down the villain Checkmate and now uses his gadgets for good

Miss Methane (Cassandra Crawford) - A woman who can use the farts a specific berry gives her to make criminals pass out

Multiplier (Mark Song) - A streamer with the ability to duplicate anything, including people

Meet the FBS! (Part 3)

When the FBS recruited yet another male hero in the form of Vwurmp, the media decried the overwhelming maleness of the team. To rectify this, the FBS hired five female heroes as part of the Gender Parity Initiative.

The heroes added were:

Bird of Paradise (Sabrina Castilho) - A Brazilian-American beauty who can turn into a macaw

Bombshell (TN-20) - A gynoid built to replace a scientist's dead fiancé, and eventually with miniature bomb factories for hair

Fallout (Bonnie Barnes) - A scientist who was turned into a sentient mass of radioactive ash by an experiment

Fauna (Amelie Thibodeaux) - A Haitian immigrant who can turn into and control animals

Medusa (Medusa) - A gorgon with a love of history and petrification blasts

Vwurmp (Joel McGill) - A guy from Iowa who can create portals to anywhere on Earth (and possibly beyond it)

Meet the FBS! (Part 2)

Following the death of original member Crimson Cloak, the FBS recruited two new heroes with arcane knowhow to join their side.

They were:

Crusader (Steve Bird) - An archaeologist who found a divinely blessed sword that summons armor, lightning bolts, and fissures

Grail (Maria Bird) - Crusader's wife, who can make force fields and heal others

Meet the FBS! (Part 1)

The Federal Bureau of Superheroics is America’s national superhero team. It was founded in 2013 with 15 heroes who fought at The Battle of Tacoma. As of today, 12 of the original members are still with the team, as are 18 other heroes who have joined the team over the years.

The 12 original members who are still here are as follows:

Burning Man (Bruce Tent) - A former soldier who was turned into a flaming skeleton by experimental chemical weapons

Captain Cactus (Tom Crow Foot) - A Navajo man who drank radioactive cactus juice so he could get superpowers

Cobalt (Veronica Steele) - A power armor user who has sworn to bring her father’s killer to justice

Dr. Night (David Ross) - A former DA who turned to superheroics to bring more criminals to justice

Eclipse (Renee Watson) - An amateur astronomer who can control light and darkness, as well as fly

Ketuwong (Ro Sul) - A Hzeel prisoner-of-war who fights with her laser eyes, super strength, flight, intangibility, and material mimicry

Patriot (G. I. Joe Parker) - An armed-to-the-teeth America-lover known for going into fights guns a-blazing

Queen Bee (Heather Schmidt) - A model who turns into a humanoid bee whenever she's stung by a bee

SigmaX (Project Sigma X) - A robot who didn't want to be evil, and reported his creator to the FBS

Super Duper Man (Harley Cahill) - A former wrestler for the Circuit Maximus who stepped up to stop a criminal in his hometown

T-Wreck (Terrance Kingsley) - An MIT researcher who was injected with T-Rex DNA, but luckily kept his intelligence and proportionate arm length

Timelapse (Tim Altman) - A time controller who mostly controls time in relation to aging

My First Post (and Some Ground Rules)

Well, I've got a blog now. You're probably wondering what I'm going to post here. Well, I've got a lot of projects. Here's a list of them:

• The Nickstaverse, a one-man superhero universe with sci-fi and fantasy elements. It's got puns, silly powers, serious powers, a quasi-elemental magic system, 60+ alien species, 70+ sapient mythical creatures, space Jesus, and an NFL-USFL merger.
• Elmer Sterrett High, an urban fantasy world where magic returns to the world in 1859, turning 10% of the world into monsters. Over a century and a half later, these monsters are attending school and learning valuable life lessons.
• Skylanders: A New Dawn, a fanmade expansion to the world of Activision's Skylanders series. Learn about what the Skylanders have been up to since Imaginators as they face a whole new generation of villains.
• Nick's Trivia Calendar, a Neocities website where each day of the year gets three quizzes, each tangentially related to events that happened on that day.
• The Meinong Game Show Universe, a connected universe of game shows taking place in Meinong (MY-nong), the world of all things fictional.
• The Legend City Legion, a series of logic puzzles set in Legend City, New Jersey, a crime-ridden metropolis that just got superheroes. They follow the members of the Legend City Legion as they fight crime.

And there's probably more that I'm going to do unannounced, but this is what'll be most common.

Now, for the ground rules. I post these because I used to have a Discord server, and I felt pressured to pump out content for the server members, no one actually ever posted there but me, and it made my hobby feel like a job.

So, here are my guidelines for this blog. If you ever feel like I'm not following them, let me know.

1. This is an archive, not a performance. (I'm not going for engagement, I'm going for cataloguing my ideas.)

2. I am not a content creator. (I'm not building a brand, I'm creating art.)

3. I will disappear for a while. (Posts will be irregular and will depend entirely on my interest and spare time.)

4. I don't need feedback. (If you don't have anything to say, don't say anything.)

5. I will only post what I want to post. (I won't just post because "I need to get something out.")

6. I won't post everything. (Some ideas need to belong to me.)

7. This will stay a blog. (I don't need to branch out into higher-engagement mediums.)

8. I will not expect a lot of followers. (Low visibility will help.)

9. I succeed if I am happy. (I don't care about growth, engagement, followers, or activity. I care about taking pleasure in my creativity.)

10. I reserve the right to stop. (I am allowed to pause, reboot, redesign, archive, abandon, or restart anything and everything.)
